A Trip To The Underworld

I was triggered by just one phrase

And my closet of bones that I hid, even from myself, burst wide open.

I buried it real deep

So deep that I could hardly remember.

I'm on this ride now, I feel like I’m not ready,

But I’m Locked in, I Can’t get off.

So I soothe myself and say, Just go with it, surrender, and let go.

The ride takes off like a vicious, ravenous snake,

Quickly worming its way to the deepest, coldest parts of the underworld.

I try to remember to breath as my chest gets heavy

And my body tenses up from the dark pressure.

I try to remember to calm the fear as sound abandon my ears,

And my sight becomes engulfed in dark clouds.

Then I see some of the most terrifying events that I have ever seen.

I start to blame myself for these happenings,

And I start to feel ashamed,

For not only did I get Burned,

But the flame Roared near my Dears.

Rage starts to possess me and I throw Shards of Blame to the others.

I feel my soul starting to conjure a Hex, laced with Karma Times Ten.

I begin to feel myself painfully Die and I gasp for strength.

I cry out in a whisper for salvation, I was starting to become lost.

Myself says, You are there, but you are here,

You have been there, and now you are here.

So you can get back out!

I see a sparkle at the end of the tunnel, a Lifeline,

I have the Strength to claw my way out.

I proceed to see more light,

It shows me that I did my best for what I had,

And that everything is OK, and things happen for a reason.

I see more light, it shows me Understanding,

I see more light and it shows me Wisdom,

I see more light and it shows me Power,

I see more light and it shows me Healing,

I see more light and it shows me Enlightenment.

I get to the end of the tunnel, Rebirth,

And I see, hear, smell, and feel the clear senses of now.

I Cleanse off the ashes, and Stretch my new Phoenix feathers,

And Now I Take Off In Flight, More Powerful Than Ever!
